TrueFan: Reading how breathtakingly, spectacularly, unimaginably stunning Valentino's victory was in the fanboy comments is pretty entertaining.
Equally entertaining is the the stoner fanboys going on about how great he was on the Ducati even tho at the end of his time there he crashed far more than he won. Rossi has never been a crasher like Stoner so it's not so unusual that he didn't try as hard as Stoner to make that crap bike a winner. Valentino Rossi can certainly be considered by even the casual observers as the greatest rider this sport has ever seen. Casey Stoner will never be considered as such by anybody except his fanboys. Stoner is gone so let's all keep it real!

Absolutely should implement min weight as rider/bike combined. Surely adding ballast to the bottom of the bike is more ideal than where the weight is located for the bigger riders. As far as which rider I'd prefer Pedrosa or Simoncelli(rip) it's not even a contest..Pedrosa all the way. Dani Pedrosa although not a champion in the big class has a staggering amount of wins and is one of the most successful riders the sport has ever seen. Far more wins across all classes than most GP champions. Being lightweight definitely hasn't hurt Dani's performance. 61 fastest laps 45 pole positions 134 podiums 49 wins 3 world championships

TalentFan: I want to know just what it was that gave Vale the grip, drive and acceleration to out-drag a Repsol Honda, with a lighter rider on it, from behind, and complete a pass on a straight before the next corner? No stuffing it underneath, no block pass, no outbraking manoevre. A total blast-from-the-past overtake. What gives? The electronics maximisjng grip, drivd, spin, wheelie etc. have demonstrably eliminated the possibility to pass in this manner in MotoGP. Serious question here.... how the hell was it possible for Rossi to just drive past Marquez?
It's not rocket science. He maximized corner exit same as many other riders throughout the weekend. I suggest you concentrate on finding answers to the important problems in the world today. This is for entertainment purposes and you're just way beyond that it seems.

Yearby23: RockNRolla46 You obviously Regardless of how talented the kid is he was an erratic maniac in Moto2 who nearly ended a few people's careers through pure recklessness.
My feelings were the same at the time but in retrospect I'd prefer to call it "pushing maximum" and "finding the limits". The results of Marquez's efforts speak for themselves. None of the Rossi-era top riders had the chance to hone their skills on a "big bike" like Marquez did but I'm pretty sure we'd have seen the same sort of wild behavior...after all from a 250 single to a 600 i4 machine is huge in terms of both acceleration and maneuverability.

Tires in any form of motorsports are "where the rubber meets the road" as they say. There is not a single more important component than tires. If neither rider nor bike can manage tires correctly the results will suffer. Brno allows a smooth rider to take advantage of the flowing layout without losing time to an aggressive rider. It's these facts alone that lead to the extra pressure on Marquez throughout race distance which allowed Pedrosa and others to finally compete. Unfortunately many circuits have point and shoot characteristics which will continue to play to Marquez's strengths.

trummy200: It must be appreciated that Redding is a big lad compered to others on the grid, so an underpowered bike is even a bigger handicap than to other riders. I think he has done a really good job up to now and does deserve a good crack on a factory bike
Sorry Trummy but the weight thing has become boring. Remember Will Hartog Suzuki RG500 140 hp. Didnt cause him too many problems. Dave Jefferies, Christian Bourgeois, Peter Hickman, etc etc. Loads of examples. Its like saying small riders dont have the strength etc.
In the modern era of GP riders weight is crucial. Can't compare to the old days when machinery and rider skills were separated by seconds per lap not 1/10 of a second. Comparing to open roads racers like Jefferies etc is just ridiculous as lap times are a result of who is willing to take the most risk and nothing more.
