F1 » Power unit issue hampers Alonso in Q3

There was nothing wrong with Alonsos car. "As for the Spaniard, he looked on the pace in the first two session, but did not get the most out of the car in the final part and had to settle for tenth place with aq 1.34.992" That came from Ferraris official site. He had the same streight speeds as he had in Q1 and Q2. Edit. Here are Alonsos speedtraps... S1 S2 S3 (Finish line) Q1 240 259 283 Q2 240 260 286 Q3 (last flyer) 239 260 282

Having run a different sensor on Saturday, the stewards' decision said that Red Bull "did not get readings that were satisfactory to them or the FIA, so they were instructed to change the sensor within Parc Ferme on Saturday night". The team reverted to the original sensor which had given a difference in readings on Friday, and were instructed "to apply an offset to their fuel flow such that the fuel flow would have been legal". If FIA makes teams use their sensors the sensors should be working and not like they are now...
