F1 » Thailand, Portugal, France... where could F1 race?

I was fan of F1 for many years. Recent years I havent really bothered to watch it anymore. To run: WSBK race Dorna wants 300k€ MotoGP 4 million € Bernie wants 30 million € for F1 race The real question is why would any one of these tracks want to run F1 race? Is F1 going to bring 100 times more spectators than WSBK? Is it even going to bring 8 times more spectators than GP? Yes they are propably getting more money from tv rights and sponsors for F1, but is it really worth it? Not to mention there is zero "wow" factor in F1. GP and SBK are loud, fast, sometimes have scary accidents, they have racing everything F1 doesent. If I had multimillion track, I would not bother to bring dying F1 on my track.

WSBK » Upbeat Brookes draws BMW Yamaha comparisons

I dont know if its Muir paying for it or BMW giving some serious support but Brookes bike had 40k€ swingarm from Melandris factory BMW from 2013 season. BMW Italia had requested for the swingarm last season but request had been denied, I dont know if it was because of money or BMW not giving support. Situation is definetly going to be interesting. Kawasaki, Ducati, Aprilia and Yamaha raising their game in streetbikes, you would think BMW has some pressure to market its bike, because it hasnt that "IT" factor it had year or two back as other manufacturers have catched up in power and electronics.

MotoGP » EXCLUSIVE: Scott Redding - Q&A

ElbowDown93: " The electronics I don't really feel that much different compared to the electronics I've used before, so I feel comfortable. " Don't feel much different Scott ? What sort of crappy software did Honda use in Scotts bike last year or others? This does give an idea as to how complicated the factory Ecu Repsol Honda boys(yams too) were using..I remember certain top riders moaning about the new ECU after the Valencia test saying that it was very old or something along those lines..
Scott had Honda factory electronics last year. Ducati is far ahead of Honda and Yamaha in these new electronics as they had teams already running them last year, and most importantly had the factory guys learning and writing it. Honda nor Yamaha did that. Sources inside the paddock are saying Ducati has basicly written the new software with MagnetiMarelli guys. Listen to motomatters podcasts, they give good info.

WSBK » Jerez - Unofficial testing results [Wednesday]

Matt2: Ioda will run 2, RSV 4 RF in WSBK.
You mean THIS season? Are you kidding? :) Is it official?
Yes this season. Many sites reporting it now. Bikes are factory spec. DeAngelis will ride one, seconds seat rumored to go Vazquez, Savadori and even Badovini is having talks. Im hoping Savadori will get it, he has earned it. Ioda should be testing next week in Mugello.

MotoGP » Indonesia, Finland or both?

locky: Finland GP will never happen-there aren't enough mugs in the place to pay a crowd like Dorna the money being asked. GP is going East, although you could argue it's been going South since Dorna arrived. Basically a European sport has been Frankensteined into a business model to sell in Asia, sort of Spanish League meets China, with a few wealthy Arabs to leaven the mix. Pity really, used to be a great sport, now it's just a ****ty business model.
Cind of truth, but finns are pretty crazy when it comes to motorsport. There is not that big of motorsport event in Finland if you take out Lapland Rally wich gets pretty respectable attendance. + I think the people who are putting this MotoGP deal together are heavily relaing on Russian tourist.

MotoGP » No 2016 engine for satellite Hondas at Sepang?

Rasuto: Why would they test with last year's electronics, when the electronic packages won't be used? It's a waste of precious development time. And if they do, they would use a test rider (which I believe they already did), not with the current rider who working to sort and setting up the new engine+new electronics+new tire.
So they would have an idea if the new engine is better than the old one. Using the new electronics riders didnt have a clue if it was better or not.
