F1 » Opinion divided on commercial F1 engine

IMO, F1 is a constructor championship. They have already taken out the ability to innovation per the rules. No real advances in engine and transmission are allowed. If you are going to freeze power train, why not areo too. I think hybrid is only a temp solution. If you want innovation let F1 come up with innovative power options. Hydrogen, Flywheel, Fusion, Warp drives. Then let the tech move to the public. F1 is not a green sport! I fell in love with F1 when I was 12, 1961. I was attracted to the technology. I was racing Karts, there too it was open, we were first to use maverick buttons (ignition advance), adjustable expansion chambers, full lay down (top of my helmet 27" from ground). Must of this stuff banned. My point is let development happen, loosen the rules, you will see small teams able to invent and innovate. Give them a wheelbase, weight, safety, and let them go. Six wheels, Tyrell, It would be fun. Only way this works is equal share of all revenue for all teams. No t

MotoGP » Doohan: No lines crossed in Marquez, Rossi clash

YaFeckinEejit:Quote please. If they really said that he would of been penalised. I'm pretty sure they said something like "Marquez was being a nuisance" but that isn't breaking the rules, in fact that's part of racing if one of the riders thinks he's faster. Rossi broke the rules, and arguably should of been disqualified because he blatantly tried to push another wide.
Firstly I would not have said this unless it was true. Secondly they said exactly what I have quoted and they did NOT punish him. I am a MotoGP fan and I am disgusted with both RD and Motogp. MM Race fixed I contacted Sepang Circuit to see who to make a complaint with regarding Race Fixing and they said first to contact FIM I can provide proof of this too if you like. Read Crash Net 'MotoGP Race Director explains Rossi Punishment' I will accept the apology once you have read it
Joco12, I have read ever RD statment, including the one you reference, througho

MotoGP » MotoGP Malaysia: Rossi, Marquez lap times

KTMKen: @gongsin I saw it with my own two eyes. Marquez clearly stated in an interview that is what happened. Do you think his bike just fell over for no good reason??? Next you will be trying to persuade me that Rossi didn't look over at MM and make a stupid "bone-headed-move" Race Direction has been very "careful" what they say and decide. I am sure they are STH.
In official reports from helicopter camera frame-by-frame Rossi did NOT kick, and Marquez said Rossi kicked and he fell. Prove MM = liar
"Official reports from helicopter camera...." where does one get these? Who is the "official"? Where does anyone get race lap charts? I would love to get access to them. Formula 1 they are easy to find. Fun to checkout even when there no head games. Thanks for the info.

MotoGP » Rossi: Tenth title target, rivals praise comeback

mark.sandman.5: I am a motorcycle racing fan and have been following Valentino Rossi for over 14 years. When Motor GP returned to Laguna Seca, Valentino Rossi and his crew were in the same beach area hotel as me. Nice guy cool crew. Funny story. When we got the tickets it said that you should bring earplugs. My girlfriend said, why should we bring earplugs, the motorcycles on TV aren't that loud! What can I say, she was Hot! LMFAO! If you have actually been to a MotoGP race live, you know what I'm talking about! I forgot to bring my remote control to turn the sound down at the race! ROTFLMFAO! I am old and a Valentino Rossi fan. After reading some of the comments, some of you guys need to get a life. LMFAO!
Great post! I was on the start grid at Riverside Intr (196? ). When Hap Sharp started up the Chapperal, 454 V8 straight pipes. I was 2 feet away, no ear plugs. I was shocked whan at my first MotoGp at Laguna when they returned , a 5 cylinder 990cc,

F1 » Marussia F1 goes into administration

107SS2009: Lompico, F1 teams are sharing a prize fund of over $750m which would equate to $68m to each team if it were divided equally between 11 teams, but it doesn’t work like that, the winning team earns the most while the last earns the least, the key is “The ratio”, in premier league difference top to bottom is a ratio of 1.5:1, while in F1 it is a ratio of 4.5:1, this came about as a promise by BE FOR TEAMS TO QUIT FOTA.
I think we are on the same page. Fix the ratio, fix the problem. I didn't know the ratios, good info. Send it to Bernie?

F1 » Marussia F1 goes into administration

I don't know how soccer works, but NFL, NBA, MLB all share equally in TV revenue. There are still rich teams and poor teams but they all mostly survive. If a team is in trouble, it is sold easily, as there is a waiting line for franchisee. Why not a similar model for F1? Each team would either own or lease a track and get the revenue from the gate for home race. ( this would get rid of oil owned tracks with empty stands) They would get /sell name accessories revenue. So there would still be rich and poor, but maybe no failures. Just an idea, lots of problems ie who get revenue from street circuits and many more. PS 107SS2009: no customer cars pls :-)

F1 » Ecclestone: Caterham, Marussia could miss Austin

JohnMarston: So customer cars are the way forward then?
Yes in my opinion the general situation F1 has been driven into, the best way forward is customer cars, and yes I know about some like Williams ....... ......So much for the arguments about it being a Constructors championship. As I said yesterday the third car system (three car team,F1 secret rule) will open a very big can of worms indeed.
Argument? Fact, It is a constructor championship. Money is awarded to teams based wholly on constructor points, zero driver points. It is even called world constructor championship. It is in the rules. Just because the rules hav been broken, toro roso, doesn't mean they aren't there. The only 'argument' would be if you want to change that. Then it would be a team championship. Note GP2 doesn't have constructor championship, driver and team championship. What would be the diff???
