MotoGP » Rossi: Tenth title target, rivals praise comeback

mark.sandman.5: I am a motorcycle racing fan and have been following Valentino Rossi for over 14 years. When Motor GP returned to Laguna Seca, Valentino Rossi and his crew were in the same beach area hotel as me. Nice guy cool crew. Funny story. When we got the tickets it said that you should bring earplugs. My girlfriend said, why should we bring earplugs, the motorcycles on TV aren't that loud! What can I say, she was Hot! LMFAO! If you have actually been to a MotoGP race live, you know what I'm talking about! I forgot to bring my remote control to turn the sound down at the race! ROTFLMFAO! I am old and a Valentino Rossi fan. After reading some of the comments, some of you guys need to get a life. LMFAO!
Great post! I was on the start grid at Riverside Intr (196? ). When Hap Sharp started up the Chapperal, 454 V8 straight pipes. I was 2 feet away, no ear plugs. I was shocked whan at my first MotoGp at Laguna when they returned , a 5 cylinder 990cc,

F1 » Marussia F1 goes into administration

107SS2009: Lompico, F1 teams are sharing a prize fund of over $750m which would equate to $68m to each team if it were divided equally between 11 teams, but it doesn’t work like that, the winning team earns the most while the last earns the least, the key is “The ratio”, in premier league difference top to bottom is a ratio of 1.5:1, while in F1 it is a ratio of 4.5:1, this came about as a promise by BE FOR TEAMS TO QUIT FOTA.
I think we are on the same page. Fix the ratio, fix the problem. I didn't know the ratios, good info. Send it to Bernie?

F1 » Marussia F1 goes into administration

I don't know how soccer works, but NFL, NBA, MLB all share equally in TV revenue. There are still rich teams and poor teams but they all mostly survive. If a team is in trouble, it is sold easily, as there is a waiting line for franchisee. Why not a similar model for F1? Each team would either own or lease a track and get the revenue from the gate for home race. ( this would get rid of oil owned tracks with empty stands) They would get /sell name accessories revenue. So there would still be rich and poor, but maybe no failures. Just an idea, lots of problems ie who get revenue from street circuits and many more. PS 107SS2009: no customer cars pls :-)

F1 » Ecclestone: Caterham, Marussia could miss Austin

107SS2009:
JohnMarston: So customer cars are the way forward then?
Yes in my opinion the general situation F1 has been driven into, the best way forward is customer cars, and yes I know about some like Williams ....... ......So much for the arguments about it being a Constructors championship. As I said yesterday the third car system (three car team,F1 secret rule) will open a very big can of worms indeed.
Argument? Fact, It is a constructor championship. Money is awarded to teams based wholly on constructor points, zero driver points. It is even called world constructor championship. It is in the rules. Just because the rules hav been broken, toro roso, doesn't mean they aren't there. The only 'argument' would be if you want to change that. Then it would be a team championship. Note GP2 doesn't have constructor championship, driver and team championship. What would be the diff???

F1 » Ecclestone: Caterham, Marussia could miss Austin

NickSpeaks: Can anyone tell me exactly what the problem is with customer cars? As far as I can see it will give us a much more competitive grid, it will allow smaller teams a chance to survive and will allow new drivers the chance to show what they can do in semi competitive cars instead of running around 4-5 seconds off the pace. I really don't see the problem. How is this worse than 3 car teams from the big boys?
To all who ask "Customer Cars". F1 is a constructor championship. You can't have customer cars and a constructor championship at the same time. Prize money is awarded by constructor points only, driver points count zero.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi wins dramatic Australian MotoGP

shamarone: re: "Ok so Marquez crashed." not sure it would've mattered. Ross had his tail up and was lapping faster. if not for the ridiculous inter-team scrimmage of him and Jay trading paint, Marquez would've been run down and passed... and not in the final laps either, but fairly early.
Poppycock, Speculation! no one could possibly know this. MM pulled 4 sec in 15 laps and slowed down, see his comments.

F1 » Raikkonen hints at extended F1 stay with Ferrari

About KIMI having another option year, I didn't know that. As for his driving, I have never understood perfering under steer. I raced karts 1960-1975, i always wanted the kart to go where i pointed. I could controlled over steer, throttle/steering, but under steer???????. I understand Alonso/ Vettle like it and they are no sloches, so it must work. Interesting.

F1 » Ferrari calls for meeting on F1 future

I think Ferrari is whinning. They have done it before. I have always loved F1 for the tech. It is first a constructor championship. (I kind of miss the days of 4-5 engine race weekends :o), I know too expensive.) I don't want a drivers only championship. I respect the engineering being important. And the engineering being rewarded. I miss all the independent teams, teams named after the designer/owner. Williams, McLaren,Sauber ,Lotus( should have been Chapman's), just a few. These guys were geniuses and but their name on it. I miss the development of engines, transmissions, and chassis's throughout the season. I lost interest for a long while when the rules started baning innovation. Lotus's dynamic suspension, I came back about the time of Mika and realized I missed so much. So I'll probably keep watching and hoping this will stop being a spec series just in case. I like the little guy, the underdog, and in a spec series they have much less chance as they can't innovate. So I'll go
