F1 » Hamilton fastest as Ricciardo closes gap

sky1: Liverpool fc of the 70s and eighties were not as dominant as the Manchester united side of the 90s and the millennium, never the less Liverpool of the mentioned era were still dominant. See where I'm going?
Not comparable because its a different era. This howver is, the Williams was consistently over 1.5 seconds faster then any other car at every round, the Redbull only managed to be a second faster at a handfull of tracks in the entire 4 years they won both titles. Not to mention in 2010 Webber did come 3rd but he was closer then Patrese was to ever getting a World title, the simple number of placing was just due to how.Competitive 2010 was , certianly more then a season dominated by a williams that could virtually drive it self to a World title it had that many Driver aids.

F1 » Hamilton fastest as Ricciardo closes gap

I think webber was better then those other second drivers, just he wasn't adaptable, i mean he did manage a championship effort in 2010. Alot of people seem to be putting the ricciardo performance as a lack of vettels ability, but it could very well mean that vettel was that good but Ricciardo is just at another level, you can't say Vettels STR year wasn't Impressive, its all speculation one way or another.

F1 » Hamilton fastest as Ricciardo closes gap

sky1:
nickw: Webber was at the latter end of his career, and a number two in all but name. There have been lots of examples of drivers, who are "officially" on equal terms, but in reality, they have never had a fair chance, and I think they subconsciously slide into that role. Webber was a ok driver, but sits in the same group as the likes of Thierry Boutsen, Gerhard Berger and Riccardo Patrese. Good on their day, but a majority of their drives, uninspiring and very forgettable.
Sorry, Riccardo Patrese did what a good number two does, bring home a dominant car like the FW14B in second place in the championship. The No 2 driver at Red Bull racing did not the same when driving the dominant Red Bull 7&9.
Lol if you think any Redbull was as dominant as the FW14B.

F1 » Kobayashi ‘ready to fight back’

I would rate Ericsson about the same as Pic going by lower categories. Koabayashi is usually over half a second faster in qualifying when there isn't a problem. Kobayashi really should be in a Williams or Force inda at worst tbh, anyone that watched the 2012 Sauber battle with Perez knows koba scored double the points of Perez, when a gambled tyre strategy wasn't in play. Quite ironic that when Japan finally has a good F1 racer he is the only one who hasn't got any money backing him, go figure.

F1 » Smedley: Williams can last the distance

Williams are not a small team like most think, yeah they where peddling in the back half of the field for most of their post BMW days but they still have all the facilites they had back then and there external projects have kept their staff count high, they just lacked direction. Pat Symonds i think has been the real key to their huge turn around, when you look at it properly they never fully recovered from losing Newey. BMW had money and the best engine but Williams didn't fully utilize that in the time they where together.

F1 » Sainz Jr confirms Caterham contact

richard: my first thoughts were the fact is he is a red bull protege, then he could hardly be in realistic contact with caterham. but, sorry commo, i cannot see marko trying to get a third tier level in their academy. if they are, it would seem as if red bull want to take over f1, which in my mind would be a catastrophe. sainz would be far better of concentrating on winning the 3.5 championship, and to see where he goes from there.
they already did a similar thing with Ricciardo and HRT, that partnered him up with Liuzzi and within 2 races he was already dominating him(got a feeling they will try compare him to Koby).
