F1 » F1: Ricciardo hits Top Gear with lap record

theeagle: All F1 drivers do good in TG (well after all they are professional drivers) but Daniel Riccardo had done extraordinary. Just wonder what Vettel's time was, although that was 1 or 2 years ago?
i think that it was 44.1. but remember, vettel was driving a rhd car, something he was not used to, whilst lulu and ricciardo were driving a car that they were used to. and vettels first time actually beat lulus first time, that is why lulu had to return to try and go faster.
Hamiltons first Attempt was in the wet, and besides Redbull is based in UK and for sure Vettel would of stayed there for quite a few years even before F1.

F1 » Vergne eyes 2016 Ferrari race seat

Vergne is an ok driver who manages to score more points then his talent level, he does have alot of bad luck though but he seems to have plataeu'd as soon as he came to F1 with no real improvement in any area. Ricciardo's speed was on another planet entirely to Vergne, only bad strategy allowed him to keep up. And Kyvat was inconsistent but had higher highs then Vergne but also lower lows. Vergnes best ability is he can learn a car instantly and be on pace right from the get go, his weakness is he can't improve much if any once he got the hang of it. His adaptability also means he is an excellent weather driver probably the best on the grid, and was his only real advantage over Ricciardo.

F1 » F1 Driver of the Year 2014: 1st

McSerb: This is pretty ridiculous. Daniel really had a great season, no doubt about it, but so did the world champion. The world champion should have the edge in an unbiased pole and Daniel should be second. Just how many races should Hamilton have won to be first here ? All of them ? Would even that have been enough ? I mean, you could always say : well, Daniel beat the four times in a row world champion and the Mercedes was a better car, so... No, not even all 19 wins for Hamilton would have been enough to dethrone Ricciardo on this site. Either way this means nothing and produces no consequences, but it is pretty pathetic.
not really, Hamilton made more driving errors then Ricciardo, Rosberg isn't rated as good as Vettel. Also even though Hamilton like Ricciardo proved they could go through the field, only Ricciardo could do it and keep his car untouched. If Hamilton made less mistakes then I would have no issue rating him 1st, but at the same time he is 2nd best driver this year without question Bottas and Alonso where good but they both dipped a bit at the end.

F1 » F1 Driver of the Year 2014: 9th

BtwnDitches: I realize that this poll is more of a fan "gut preference" (or nationality loyalty) thing than a hard, close review of performance statistics. But, looking at every race in which he participated, and reviewing all top-down placements in qualifying and final race placements, one has to ask: "How many times was Kvyat logged even at 9th place?" Too few, I submit, for him to earn this rating - especially above someone like Hulkenberg.
Many times, but he had numerous engine failures which stopped him from finishing.
