F1 » Alonso: I want to finish job at Ferrari

Thing is, where would Alonso go anyway? He'd be certifiably barking mad to return to McLaren, a team in disarray with a current car worse than the F14T and too many variables concerning next year's car. Merc and RBR don't really have an Alonso sized problem in thier driver line up and Williams can't afford him. Far better off staying at Ferrari where he gets first go on the vending machine, no politics from his team mate and hopefully a better car next year.

F1 » Verstappen crashes on F1 demo run

Oh dear. Looks like he needed to have spent a day at a drift school before doing this sort of event. Although Kobayashi's Ferrari F1 demo shunt was equally embarrassing. That said, racing is very different to to donutting around Rotterdam, so I suspect he'll still do a good job in 2015. His Dad is a very nasty piece of work though, my old engine builder in Holland had plenty of Verstappen horror stories and a quick google makes for alarming reading. Let's hope Max is not a chip from the old block..

F1 » Vettel expects ‘a hard time’ from Ricciardo

I think Seb's just covering his ar*e and putting a friendly front on things. He'll learn from Ricciardo all right - learn all he needs to ensure he stays in front! Helmut Marko's dislike of Webber was well known but Sebs speech at the Autosport awards suggests Helmut still gives him plenty of grief behind the scenes, so I expect Ricciardo will also get his fair share of 'motivational' chats..

F1 » Former rally boss set to lead Lotus?

Lotus are £114mil in debt, maybe a little less now after Maldonado's arrival but I suspect people have departed because they weren't getting paid enough or at all. Quantum turned out to have the substance of a passing cloud, dreamt up by a character with extensive experience in fraud. So given the circumstances, Quesnel is probably a relatively economical choice.

F1 » Ecclestone tips Rosberg for title

It's an interesting one. Was it coincidence was it that Nico got 67 laps more running than Lewis, or is Nico the better development driver? I know Lewis lost the front wing but I wouldn't expect that to put him 67 laps behind in a test. Ross Brawn's interview at the Hall of Fame awards recently suggested that Lewis needed to apply himself more so it begs the question. I don't care who bags the WDC but I think Lewis has a slight edge over a lap while Nico appears more consistent, particularly out of the car.
