F1 » New deal respects Hamilton’s market value, says Wolff

Darkh0rse: Not forgetting that also the market value of gold will go up now when he starts wrapping more goldey lookin chains round his neck
Provided a good laugh. I'm not a fan of Hamilton but admit he's a good driver. But would they really have to pay him that much to win in a car that isthe fastest car out there. I would think that Hulkenberg or Bottas could still win in that car for about 30 mil less. If you ask these guys, they all say they race for the love of it, but would they decline racing if that sort of money wasn't available?

F1 » Button: The best man isn’t winning

It's all good to argue over who is a better driver, but i comes down to statistics in the end. The teams want results and don't really care about the excuses unless they have an exceptional driver that's had really bad luck. Qualifying better doesn't put more money in the teams bank account at the end of the year, it's constructors points that count. I'm not a fan of Hamilton, but I don't think he was in the wrong. Any racing car drive knows when you go for the outside, you do so at your own risk. It's a racing drivers responsibility to calculate the risk potential, and what did Nico expect to happen when passing around the outside into a chicane?

F1 » Ecclestone warns quieter F1 could be costly

All arguments aside, the sound sucks. I went to the F1 GP on the weekend and I can tell you, I will not be paying $100 to go again, I'm better off watching it on TV. I heard plenty of people saying that they wouldnt attend another F1 race again on the weekend. Even people who didn't follow F1 used to love the sound. Now it has no appeal for the cost of tickets. No one cares about technical regulations, they just want to see good close racing and hear good noise. This will be a year that F1 takes a big hit, they will have to fight hard to draw crowds. Change the regs or lose interest.
