MotoGP » Nicky Hayden visits WSBK

Oli: I hope Nicky goes to WSB and on a good bike, I think it'd be great for the series and I think he'd do well. Having said that, it'll still be a huge challenge for him. Been a while since anyone has gone from the middle order of MotoGP and been slotted straight into the front of WSB. De Puniet, Elias, Aoyama etc, have all struggled, and probably the last person to make the jump from the middle of the GP grid and win in WSB was Checa, and he took a couple of years to get going.
What about Melandri?
What about the current world superbike champion Guintoli?

F1 » Manor pass FIA crash tests with updated 2014 car

I echo some of the other comments on here. Having a formula 1 team should be a viable business model. Coming out of administration is obviously a good thing, but to circulate the back of the pack in an out of date car will surely add to their existing debt? and by the time they receive that £40m they will just about break even? to me, it just seems unfair to all the suppliers that are waiting for their money whilst the team is jetting all over the world to "circulate" the tracks. I don't think they will be racing anybody this year

F1 » Red Bull to appeal Ricciardo exclusion

richard: ty. like you, I am sitting on the fence. I can see both sides of the debate. but that has to be remembered is that it was a STEWARDS decision in Melbourne, and not an fia decision. rbr are appealing so that the fia are forced into a final decision. if rbr can PROVE that their flow never exceeded the limit, then the fia could have egg on their face for providing defective equipment that caused a team to be compromised
Remember Richard that the DSQ came about not because of the flow limit being exceeded but because RBR chose to use their own flow sensor over the FIA flow sensor without their permission.

F1 » Red Bull to appeal Ricciardo exclusion

simon.tay.509: The rule says max 100kg/h, not max of the sensor reading. They have a case there
That's my reading of things, IF RBR can prove that the car never used more than 100kg/h then they didn't break the rule. And I'm pretty sure that they must be able to prove that or they wouldn't be appealing.

MotoGP » Moto2: Lowes makes mark despite wrist pain

Insidejob: Looks 'sticky.' Hope we'll see him near the front. I didn't think he'd perform so well on the Speed Up. They're running a carbon swing arm. I suppose it is their own bespoke chassis but can't find any info on it. Why aren't any other teams using it?
Qmmf are the only other team using the speed up chassis but I don't know how similar they are. Ant west is very experienced but still can't match the pace of lowes, if that's a benchmark to go by??
