F1 » Italian Grand Prix - Qualifying results

JohnMarston: I am surprised by how slow the red bulls looked
They've always lacked top speed. Especially this year.
I guess you didn't watch the last race at Spa then... However to clarify, I meant they looked especially slower then normal.
Red bulls have consistently lacked 5-10 mph top speed at specific tracks over the others for the last few years at least. Ricciardo's car was not faster last race, he was consistent and picked up the pieces after the Mercedes boys' shenanigans.

MotoGP » Lorenzo 'the best' in MotoGP, says Rossi

The bike's fine, it won half the races this year. Every rider ends up riding the bike they are given. I think Rossi's long in the tooth and has lost his fire to win, simple. It happens to everyone at some point. Last few years have been tough, being involved in the death of his good mate, must have been hard on him. I kind of feel sorry for him, he should have retired at the end of 2010 and maybe gone to WRC. Anyway, I'm sure he'll be fine, still got the biggest trophy cabinet of any of the current crop of riders, maybe not for long if Marquez keeps it up though.

MotoGP » Should MotoGP change its points system?

IMO, the best way to compress the points table is to award points like they do in the Strongman Champions League. Everyone who finishes the race gets points. Last place gets 1 point. Second last 2 points, third last 3 points, all he way up to first. In this way it will be impossible to predict the points, because DNF's will change the way points are distributed. For example if 12 riders complete a race, first place will get 12 points, but if all the riders finish, 24 points. It could be argued that a win is a win, and that this will simply penalise the winner, but I don't think so. Anyway that's my two bob's.
