MotoGP » Rossi rues time lost on opening laps

Considering his illustrious past it seems strange that Rossi and his fans seem to be" hoping for podiums " and not wins and titles any more ! It is beyond doubt that his glory days are behind him and perhaps his famous statement to Sete Gibernaau " you will never win another race " may come back to haunt him ,... perhaps it is already !! There is always a chance he could win a race as he gambles on tyre choice sometimes but it has not paid of yet , however in a straight race few believe he can beat MM or JL . what will happen if he does not improve next year or the one after ??

MotoGP » Marquez unstoppable for Silverstone pole

It must be so frustrating for the rest , especially the yamahas , who seem unable to qualify on pole or win a race this year so far .. but neither seems to crash ( Obviously I do not want them to get hurt !) whilst trying trying to beat MM I think they have given up , but they will nearly always end up on the podium as they are on the factory bikes so I feel they are just playing safe and hoping to maintain some championship position !!

MotoGP » Yamaha working on seamless downshifts

When Honda came up with the seamless gear change , why did they not patent it to stop others copying it ? or is that not allowed in racing ? It seems they come up with the engineering solutions / advancements and others just copy it , flattering as that may be I am surprised it is allowed really and they do not want to protect it . As for traction control I seem to remember some years back when Rossi had it on his Yamaha he said himself that it felt like cheating and he was the one who was winning and few others had it , notably his team mate colin edwards .....
