F1 » Red Bull 'disappointed' by appeal failure

Taz:
whitew: They were never going to win. The FIA is going to nail them at every opportunity this year. It doesnt really matter anyway as the Mercedes is the car to have at the moment.
Just like they nailed Merc last year....cough.
mercedes/ross brawn were smarter/sneakier, they found the loop hole in charlie whiting first, red bull tried to create a loophole after the event

F1 » Mercedes calling for increased Red Bull sanction

1Jez:
fourteenseven: if a policeman tries to pull you over even if you disagree, you really need to stop
If the police supply you with a speedo, tell you to do a particular speed and then book you because their speedo was wrong, you would sure as hell appeal it. While it's more complicated that this, the principle still applies.
i take it that you would have 'stopped' to have this conversation so you do agree

F1 » Mercedes calling for increased Red Bull sanction

1Jez: @fourteenseven - there was nothing 'potential' about an inaccurate reading in Ricciardo's car, it certainly was an inaccurate reading. The FIA acknowledged that fact. The dispute is regarding how the FIA and RBR wanted to deal with that incorrect reading. There was no compliance from other teams to an FIA request because no other teams were subject to the failure that Ricciardo's car experienced. RBR are not trying to put themselves above the law - they are trying to race up to the letter of the law. According to RBR, the FIA wanted them to apply such a conservative correction to the fuel flow readings that it would have made them uncompetitive. How is that fair?
