MotoGP » Redding waiting on Gresini for MotoGP 2015

shuggiemac: So stay at home for a year and then see if anyone comes knocking after that 12 months. Need to be very careful what you say. This guy desperately needs to learn how to think as well as he rides as there is not a ton of thought going into his mouth at times before he opens it. Start banging the table like your some kind of hot poop when there are so many other talents around, some with titles to their names, is not the smartest thing in the world to do. I hope he gets a good ride and succeeds but he needs to wake up and realise that he is no Marquez, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Rossi or even Miller, Rabat etc as I would not bet against either of those two being world champs by the end of the season.
Sorry buddy are you serious? Rabat? Rabat is at best a bang average rider. He's 25 for crying out loud! This is the first year he's even coming close to getting a title in any MotoGP category. He's been around so long he's just riding against rookies and has-been

MotoGP » Mixed feelings for Rossi at mid-point of 2014

R6Ryder: No big concern. Germany has not been a great track for VR and he seems quite cautious in mixed conditions. With that said I guess 4th is about all we could hope for. Even in dry he was a touch slower than the podium guys this weekend. I'm glad to get this GP behind us.
He had a good pace in warm up this morning, don't think he had the best free practices this weekend. Assen and Sachsenring have been pretty much curveballs in the season so far, other than the fact of Marquez being unreal !

F1 » Hamilton: It was my mistake

TH: Can someone explain the tactical advantage he thought he would have by aborting his lap and not pushing to the line? Thanks
the two sectors he had completed were slower, so he didnt complete the final sector, those that completed the lap found the final sector the one to make up time in
That's not true though. Hamilton didn't even complete a flying first sector on the same lap that Rosberg set the pole time, he let Rosberg through and throttled off before the first sector time, so in all honesty he had aborted in the first sector. Watch Rosberg's pole lap and you'll see how slow Hamilton was through the first few corners! Hamilton's fault, he should know that the only guarantee in F1 is that you cannot guarantee anything!

MotoGP » We're closer to beating Marquez, says Rossi

So much negativity towards Rossi not being able to beat Marquez, why can't he? Anyway shouldn't it be Rossi's younger, in his prime team-mate taking the fight to Marc? Rossi can beat Marquez. So can Pedrosa, and so can Lorenzo. Winning doesn't last forever. I'm just happy to see Rossi up there and fighting, it brings the sparkle back to MotoGP. Hope the season carries on like this! Just enjoy watching Rossi, because sure as hell you will miss him when he is gone.

F1 » Rosberg: Hamilton spin cost me pole shot

Googolplex: Does anybody know if Lewis's lap was potentially good enough for pole if he hadn't spun out under brakes? I wonder if Nico has factored that in, in making his comment about Lewis' spin causing him to lose his shot at pole.
I don't know, but the flying lap before where he made a mistake and the lap got dashed was more than 3 tenths up on bottas' time, so it would have been pole for sure. Ifs and buts don't count though!

MotoGP » We're closer to beating Marquez, says Rossi

Insidejob: According to Jeremy McWilliams ex GP racer commentating on BT, the Hondas and Yamahas are equal. I agree. They're not the same but are equally capable of winning in the right hands. Both factory Hondas are the same. both factory Yamahas are the same.
The Honda is the more complete package though. It's a lot more forgiving to mistakes and easier to bring to the limit than the yamaha. You really can't back the yamaha in to corners as the chassis seems to be a little stiffer, the reason why Pol crashed in free practice at Mugello I believe. Let's also remember that this is Yamaha's first season with a seamless downshifting gear box, as 2013 it only had seamless up shift in the second half of the season, which maybe another reason why Yamaha isn't quite as strong on corner entry. In the right hands, which is definitely Rossi and Lorenzo, the Yam can win for sure.
