F1 » Same questions, different team for Raikkonen

Not only Horner/RBR screwed Ferrari this Year but the next year as well. So you can almost for sure count on a fifth championship for Red Bull, at the expense of Alonso fighting Kimi internally next year or moving to Lotus (FA plan B things turn incredibly bad the rest of this year at Ferrari). And per Montezzemolos comments over FA comments over the radio things are really bad at Ferrari. Cudos to Horner/RBR. Later.

Ok... I am in the mood tonight! Bare with me: What if Horner/RBR lured a unhappy Fernando to think he had a shot at their available seat and he bit the bait. Ok, that would shake Ferraris foundation not only this year but the next year as well. Why? Simple. Hiring Ricciardo they not only solved an immediate problem at a lower cost while screwing tremendouly the Alonso/Ferrari camp. Furthermore, if the Ferrari/Alonso's contract gives Alonso, at this point, the power (over Ferrari) to decide if he stays or not, imagine how would that make the italians at Ferrari. They will be pissed off at FA. So what do they do: they hire Kimi (also a hot shot and highly skilled) to stick to FA.

F1 » Ferrari 'ready to make driver decision'

Fernando is burnt at Ferrari if he pursued RBR. Either he endures Kimi or he is out to Lotus. A Kimi/Massa partnership would make Ferrari and Felipe happy, since Felipe has taken not one but three (years) for the team with Alonso as his teammate. Does anyone has any doubt Fernando/Bank didn't inforce that with Ferrari in first place. Plus Kimi/Massa worked a lot better than Alonso/Massa and at least from outside it looked a better combination. More fair to Massa as well. In the case Fernando stays, Massa can go to Sauber, but my bet and wish is that he goes to Lotus.

Fernando and Kimi would be a nightmare to manage, I agree. But what if Ferrari is not happy with him? He is combative and to a lot of people the most complete package there is. Although to Ferrari, they can do well with other drivers given the car is right, in which case Fernando is a problem due to his well-known behavior when things are not going his way. Ferrari ditched Prost for the same behavior: bad mouthing the team publicly. Imagine Fernando's contract gives him some power over the team and also allow him the choice of when to leave the team. That would put Ferrari in a awkward situation and the Kimi factor would be a incentive big enough to make Alonso quit to go somewherelse which would free Ferrari of paying him out. Somewhat what happened at MacLaren with Lewis. I havent seen Nicos interview but I think a deal with Lotus would make him happy already, even if his team mate is Massa. That would be a good deal considerin Sauber issues amd performance this year.

Imagine FA having to endure a N2 status. He would flip and quit. And that must be a clause for Ferrari to get rid of him and keep the sponsorship. That will happen, because Ferrari doesn't accept a driver to behave like he is doing. It will be great to see Kimi back to Ferrari. But there is also also a chance Kimi and FA are switching places and that is good for Massa as well. Kimi doesnt seem to demand the status. He earns it at the track and for Massa that would represent a motivation to fight for. Lets wait and see what happens.

I suspect it is a done deal already. Ferrari (Montezemolo) wants to send Fernando a message, and what would bother Alonso more at this point?! Alonso has the banks backup and Kimi is the way for Ferrari to leverage with him, plus get a motivated driver. They killed Massa's spirit for the past three years and now look at the result. It would to be beautiful to see Massa at Lotus as N1 driver, partnering Nico Hulkenberg! Lotus would benefit from Massa's experience since there is no other driver available with the experience of having driven for a top team. Webber did Massa a favor. Hulk is green still, to lead a team, and don't forget Massa would have won 08's title if it wasn't for Ferrari' screw ups! Kimi will put pressure on Alonso and I hope he comes in at the same level. It would to be nice, for the show even, to have FA and Kimi having the same status. But since Ferrari is a N1 and N2 kind of team Alonso should calm down otherwise Montezemolo will make him N2 regardless his s

I hope Massa and Kimi switch places. It would make him well to be at a team where he can be himself. If you notice his performance droped right after that incident with Alonso when they both were coming into the pits 3 years ago I guess. It was right at the beginning of the season. After that his world collapsed. It was then when he realised he was N2. His perfomances have been pretty poor after that and took him half last season and a lot if therapy to understand his position. Alonso and the bank own the team and that is that. What motivation is there for him to fight for. I believe he has support frm Domenicalli and others within the team (and the pay is good) so he stayed there. But for how long? He is bidding his time waiting for a good seat to come up. Lotus is a good choice right now. Let Kimi deal with Alonso. At this momment Kimi will have support at Ferrari as its relationship with Alonso is turning sawer.he would be Ferraris man and that way a leverage agains FA/bank. Does
