MotoGP » Smith keen to protect top satellite status

FLtrooper: Smith.. Go to WSBK on that wonderful new R1 and beat the Kawasaki guys. If you can do that in your first year like Spies then you have every right to be on the Tech 3 team and I will be your #1 fan! :) let me get this right. He has to jump off the bike hes doing well on, drop out the premier series he is currently leading non-factory, then move to a 'lower' series' to win their championship on a completely different prove to you he deserved the ride he just left 12 months ago on a different bike and in a different series. im glad you don't manage any riders with logic like that! btw I suspect BS probably would win WSBK ifhe rode

MotoGP » Kent: The best victory of my career

Braap: I can't understand why DK didn't go for the Pramac ride (given that he had the choice). He is this years big story but as he knows too well that can vanish within 2 races and the minute you loose that sparkle the MotoGP teams don't call anymore. Maybe he has negotiated some kind of deal in Moto2 which will move him into MotoGP with that same team? Kiefer? Pons? MarcVDS?
I thought that Pramac shoved a 3 year deal under his nose and said' sign tha't in the next two days. DK didn't have a chance to run it by advisors or reflect on it - so right to be suspicious of it. Also contracts you sign now need to tie in with what factory riders contracts are doing to stand a chance of a seat there. He has other offers to consider (that we don't know about) which may be more appealing and offer a better pathway to a Factory GP ride. They may also be offering more financial rewards (which although shouldn't be a primary factor, should still be one to seriously consid

MotoGP » Smith keen to protect top satellite status

Yes I don't know why people rubbish his Moto2 exploits. On 125s he was very much a contender, before taking the Mistral Tech 3 ride. Herve obviously rates him as he has seen plenty of others try and fail to better Smiths results on it. If Smith was on a MarcVDS im sure he would have been a Moto2 title contender also. I guess people only have short term memories. Its funny how people quote stats to support their 'BS is rubbish argument', but choose to undermine or downplay the other stats (runner up 2009, massively outscore all Moto2 teammates and subsequent riders, currently 5th in MotoGP and top Satellite rider). tbh I thinks its an emotional thing with some people on here...he is a bit ginger, squeaky voiced and bald so im gonna take my man love elsewhere :-) As for WSBK im pretty sure Smith would win it - no way of proving it though. Lots of leading guys in WSBK tried and never made the GP racing grade. Doesn't make them bad riders, just not among the best of the best of th

MotoGP » ‘Maxed-out’ Smith leads stormy Catalunya test

and its all well and good criticizing him for not taking risks and pushing too don't have to go back to Herve to explain the expensive crash repair bill. I reckon Herve is delighted in BS staying on and taking advantage of other riders crashes.... Its how you win a championship (which BS could do - the satellite one). I very much doubt he will ever win the MGP one, but hey - only 2-3 riders in the world, in a generation, ever can. :-) But it seems others will always criticise and know best...and never cut the kid a break, so its a waste of breathe trying to convince otherwise.

MotoGP » Top satellite Smith fights factory stars

speedbegger: reality is he wasn't fighting with anyone--and that's one of my biggest issues with him. iannone had physical issues and marc had setup issues....any other rider would of smelled blood and took the fight to them. smith was content sitting back and watching, hoping that they would run wide or take each other out. essentially he was hoping for another phillip island 2014.
if you had to face the wrath of Herve after the race you would try anything too hasty elther:-) .The factory boys don have budge worries like Herve does! BS got slated for not runnin with th factor boys, now hes being slated for not passing em. The lad cant please some people for some reason.
