No doubt Lowes deserved some punishment, but the footage from James Ellison's bike shows just how little margin there was for error in this move. It was clearly not deliberate and, therefore, a racing incident, which Lowes was lucky not to go down from as well. Time penalties are normally awarded and this should have been the case here, as the move was all legal, ie made on the racetrack. To compare this incident with Sofuoglu's completely illegal move on Sam Lowes at Silverstone is nonsense, but it puts the organisers' cynicism totally in perspective..
