F1 » Manor F1 ready to race in Australia

PinkLadyRacer: Brilliant news and wish the whole team all the best and take it to them FIF1 cars
Sorry to rain on the "Hope Manor beat Force India" thing, but it's highly unlikely that'll happen. A 2014 Ferrari engine will be no match for the 2015 Merc, regardless of how little testing Force India got. The only scenario I see Manor actually beating FI is if their cars break down, which is even less likely if their reliability in testing is anything to go on. So that leaves the case wherein both drivers crash out, which is again unlikely seeing as Hulkenberg is as good as he is. Perez is also a pretty decent driver, and should be safe unless he gets carried away.

F1 » Manor steadfast in its F1 return plans

I know this will probably be disagreed heavily but since this is a place to voice your opinions, I'll just say that I completely understand Force India's decision. In all honesty, I would rather the money go to three financially unstable teams Lotus, Sauber and Force India, all of whom consistently punch above their weight. I definitely want more cars on the grid and I obviously want Manor back. But the reality is that it would be likely they sold both seats out to pay drivers, since Bianchi's condition hasn't gotten better. I know the Ferrari engine looks great this year, but they still don't have a history of very good chassis. tldr: they would achieve nothing and contribute nothing to F1 in 2015. Come back next year with a clearer plan, I say. That's just my two cents.

F1 » Manor steadfast in its F1 return plans

Off-topic, Force India has once again denied speculation of a financial implosion. Szafnauer has stated that the monocoque delay was due to EPM moving factories and ATL has received their payment for the fuel tank. Niki Lauda has also confirmed that Force India have paid the bill for the engine, and that Force India have paid Toyota for their use of the wind tunnel. So all the speculation was sensationalist BS? Why'd they let it build up? I'm just relieved we won't be losing another good team. So much for "no chassis, no engine, no fuel tank" Mark schmidt. :P

F1 » Caterham to auction F1 assets

To follow up on what I posted: It is supposedly Force India who blocked Manor's effort. I can see why, they probably need the cash... This would mean Lotus and Sauber get a slice too. Now that I think about it, I do remember reading that neither of the three financially unstable teams was on board with Manor's return. Edit: Correction: three or four teams rejected Manor's bid. Force India isn't the only one.

F1 » Vettel marks Ferrari F1 debut with top time

George Zaidan: anyone that thinks Ferrari will be slow again this year hasn't been paying attention. Ferrari has a passion for winning and they pull no stops in archiving what they want, this is not last year, last year was totally new to all teams where some got it right and some got it totally wrong, to think that Ferrari hasn't learned is going to be a big mistake. Someone said that Mercedes has not shown what they can do, well how about Ferrari didn't show all they can do especially when Vettel shaved off time every time he got back on track with under 50 or so lap?
You know most of the time I agree with you, George. But as has been said, it's only the first day of testing. And we may not even see Lotus and Force India until Barcelona. You never know how it'll end up. Marchionne himself doesn't have much hope for 2015.
