F1 » No human rights concerns as Azerbaijan gets green light

I hate the idea of Azerbaijan GPs but the FIA isn't the UN. They govern motorsports and do not, and should not, have their decisions influenced by politics and social issues. We've raced in poorer countries before: Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, India, China, the list goes on. We were in RSA during apartheid, Mexico during its drug cartel issues and murders, India during its rape problem. We are presently in Brazil (Interlagos is practically worshiped) where corruption and poverty run wild and China where a significant amount of its child population works in sweatshops. If we only raced in perfect, first world countries... We'd have lost some great tracks.

F1 » van der Garde, Sauber dispute rumbles on

The latest is that team VdG has called for a prison sentence for Kaltenborn and the seizure of all of Sauber's assets (via @AdamCooperF1 on twitter). We may very well be looking at a 16 car race if Manor don't get their cars running, which would be exactly what the FIA wanted to avoid. Hence, they actually listened to the midfield teams for once. Looks like that was in vain. Edit: Alonso's accident, Sauber facing an impending doom and Manor's resurrection have all happened before Qualy for Oz... if the off-season was this crazy, gotta wonder how the entire season will go?
