F1 » Hamilton: Ferrari 'very, very close' to Mercedes

Mr Jones85: It doesn't even have to be positive.. Anything that falls short of hatred will result in you being called names (never got the "one-eyed" thing) Love him or hate him though, he's good for the sport, he polarizes opinion so he's obviously interesting. This is good in my opinion as let's face it, on-track activities are pretty dull at times. I suspect that the comments would have been along the same lines if this type of forum existed when other controversial characters were racing and winning multiple championships.

F1 » Vettel ‘promises’ to keep pushing for title

Tomco: Have to say Vettel is becoming my all time preferred driver. Im not a fan sort of person but if I were, Seb would be right up there. Total good bloke and rapid driver too.
Totally agree. I think we sometimes forget that these guys are pretty young when we form our opinions of them. I like the guy that Sebastian appears to be growing into. He's been added to my "f1 drivers I'd like to have a pint with" list.

F1 » McLaren still believe in ‘acute pain’ for long-term gain

For me, the main reason that they're getting slated is because they (McLaren in particular) implied that this wouldn't be the case. I suppose that they had to to try to attract sponsors etc, but it was pretty unrealistic for them to be any good this early on. If they have said something like "listen, we're going to be fricking dreadful for the 1st year, and maybe only mediocre in year 2, but will steadily improve over time. Stick with us while we publicly test every couple of weeks" then I actually think that results like last weekend would have been able to have a positive spin put on them and it wouldn't be all doom and gloom.
