F1 » Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - Qualifying results

In a normal race, base on this year performance, Nico will win and Lewis finish second or Lewis over-take Nico and still a merc. one-two, either way will work for Nico, so to win the championship, Nico needs to bring the Williams into play, remember the Japanese GP 97? Anyway, for me, Lewis deserves this year title, just look at the race win, 10 vs 5 so far, and he weren't able to challenge the race win out of 3 GP due to technical issue or got taken out by Nico, not to mention Nico's "MISTAKE" at Monaco.

dickiebird:
Something happened at the end of last season which soured the relationship between Seb and someone in the RB management, most likely Horner. It was apparant at the start of pre season testing, and things never improved. My suspicions were reinforced when Seb announced he was leaving. They are playing metal games with him now he's going, trying to get him to doubt himself
Both red bulls excluded from today qualify, did DR upsets some RB managements too?

dickiebird: Not sure how many of you got the Vettel interview after quali. He complained that his car was the worst it had been all weekend, adding that it wasn't the first time this had happened (being faster than his team mate in all the prior trainings, then falling behind him in quali). When asked what he thought the problem was, he just stared at the interviewer and said nothing before grinning broadly. I agree with him.
Not sure why RB will do anything (or not do anything) to Vettel's car, he is more than 50points behind DR, so even he won and DR not finish, they will still finish the championship 3rd and 4th, RB will be 2nd, just a normal racing driver's excuses for me.

richard:
lulu was driving a healthy car that was 4-5 secs a lap faster than most of the field, so he could easily have finished in the points. further, if there was a sc car , he would be in the train behind the leader, and would have had little trouble getting up to 3 or 4! funny how vettel was out of the points in brazil, yet continued and finished 5th !
4-5 seconds faster? where was that come from? he was struggled to get pass a Sauber or something, he knew even there is a SC, he will not making progress.

F1 » Kobayashi retains Caterham F1 drive for Abu Dhabi

smedley: Kobayashi just looks...pathetic to me. Never mind the "well, I have a contract" talks as the team don't actually care about contracts (just look at the history of the current mess) and ask the 230 people at the factory about their plight dealing with the management.
It is easy to say than done, the guy is looking for a job next season, he needs to grab every opportunity, same as all the team members who will travel to the final race, I'm sure they will try to speak to as many ppl (from other teams) as possible, this is the only opportunity they got to speak to all the team at one place.

F1 » Kobayashi retains Caterham F1 drive for Abu Dhabi

MikeP:
107SS2009: The second driver for the race seat was believed to be Joylon Palmer whose father is believed to be interested in acquiring the operation but Joylon has now ruled himself out of driving, there was also the possibility of Will Stephens getting the seat, though the latest word is Maxi. Also the two test seats following the race weekend is said to have been sold, though to who is yet unknown.
Can't see anyone who cares about their future in F1 driving that car at this last race. The smart driver's will politely decline any offers.
Get real, if the seat was free (no money require) the list of ppl wanted to drive that car this weekend will going on and on and on!!

F1 » Kobayashi retains Caterham F1 drive for Abu Dhabi

PistonBroke2000: If he was treated so poorly - then he simply would not agree to race. I assume there is a great chance of as they say, there is a potential investor out there. P.S. I didn't see any Japanese sponsorship deals he pulled in over the year which helped the team financially.
He drove for free this year, what else do you expect? I'm sure Kobay got some personal sponsor (which is his income), he is no Chilton or Maldonado.

F1 » F1: Hamilton revels in pole battle

Rosberg will need to beat Hamilton today, and make the points gap as small as possible, it is no good to take both of them out as it will mean the points will remain at 25points, so Hamilton can settle at 2nd place in the final race and still win the title. Rosberg needs to slow the pace down, keep Hamilton behind and bring the Williams in play, saying that, base on the Williams's pace in quli, Rosberg might not need to slow down too much.
