MotoGP » Valentino Rossi talks Aragon accident

AyrtonSenna: Its not really an argument, its a fact. The guy who stayed on the track, won. There used to be real grass next to the track but for maintenance reasons and damage to the grass ie divots, made it difficult to maintain and slow the race down due to the marshalls replacing grass pieces in the middle of the race. Grass is as slippery when wet, and remember those carbon brakes can bite hard when they are wet. Ask Dani.
Of course the guy who stays on track wins... The point is not just about winning, but the consequences of a running wide with artificial OR real grass. How many riders over the last year would have stayed on and continued to race had the grass (artificial or real) been 20 feet back from the curbs? Just seems silly to have such a hazard so close to the track when inevitably it will rain at some point and invariably someone will go wide.

MotoGP » Cracked rim halts Smith home charge

ThatOtherGuy: Yes, you are quite right....I would have mentioned that too (being well aware of it) but after wading through so much anti-Smith bile on here, I just couldn't be bothered :)
Interesting how mentioning Bradders complete lack of race performance on a podium capable bike in his second year is "anti-Smith bile". Instead we should all applaud his buttery speeches and laud him for "trying". Right.

ThatOtherGuy: Yawn....ok then, let's all just spout of about how **** one of the top riders in the world is. Feel better now??!!
Yawn, ok then, let's all just gush over one of the supposed best riders in the world who can't cut the mustard against the other best riders in the world on a good bike. Feel better now??!! Also, GP should be taken off the air immediately and only televised to riders and crew since we're all too stupid to have an opinion.

MotoGP » Rossi rues time lost on opening laps

What a long strange thread it's been..... Rossi haters: Give the guy some credit, I think there are plenty of other riders on the grid that would give a lot to be in his position of points and podiums. Please give the "he should have retired" line a rest. He's still beating 90% of riders on a world level. Rossi fans: I as a Rossi fan am apparently be a mindless idiot, too. But the reality check is that for whatever reason, VR has not won a race. He's been outpaced by MM, DP, and JL. He's not the GOAT this year. Get over it! There's no reason to slam any of the others for being faster. VR is still racing extremely well, and enjoyable to watch after the last few dismal years. If VR can pull a few wins out, it would be great, if not, oh well. It doesn't add or take anything away from the performances of the other top 4. Enjoy the races, and hope for some more great battles, whomever they are between.

MotoGP » Cracked rim halts Smith home charge

JedPB67: What Smith did on that Tech3 bike was superb, anyone with a shred of knowledge knows this, that's why he got a MotoGP ride. You just look at things at face value.
Anyone with a "shred of knowledge" also knows that the Tech 3 GP bike has been on the podium, something Bradders hasn't even had a sniff of in two years. So what's the excuse there? Because at "face value", it looks like maybe he just doesn't have the talent to race the thing. Maybe like in Moto2?
