MotoGP » Deficit to top 'unacceptable' says Redding

LeisureSuitLarry:
NineTimes: @ leisure...etc 2000 runner-up, 2001 world champion on NastroAzzurro satellite Honda. Which at the time was equivalent of today's LCR or VDS Honda.
Absolutely not. Rossi's NSR was full factory, not satellite spec. He inherited Doohan's team, including Jeremy Burgess and all the crew were HRC.
You have just posted the two most important words that set VR on the road to GP success...Jeremy Burgess

MotoGP » Deficit to top 'unacceptable' says Redding

tobecis: Look all Scott has never been a great 1 lapper and the likes of Hayden and Hernandez have out excelled Scott in Qually but they have not finished in front of him that much in the race where it counts! Time will tell.
Agree,Aoyama was above Scott at the end of all testing last year but when you looked at the data it was only one lap whereas Scotts times were more consistent throughout the day. Also agree that LCR have years under their belt at understanding how to set up a satellite Honda, just a pity VDS couldn't have got a crew chief with more GP experience.

MotoGP » PICS: Scott Redding rides Marc VDS Honda

Todays performance has just given the "haters" all the fuel they love, slower than he qualified on the Proddy bike with Showa/Nissin. Not going to compare Scott to Cal as his crew have many years of experience and data with the bike but only just in front of Maverick whos never ridden Bridgestones and carbon brakes and in a new team is not good. Hopefully by the end of this week he can be well within the top ten.

MotoGP » PIC: Estrella back Redding’s 2015 Marc VDS Honda

rubberballs: It seems all the planets are aligning for Scott , I think He will have a great 2015 . But I can't help thinking the new open class Honda could be a competitive package and the extra fuel could have been a real advantage to Scott . Time will tell , good luck Scott.[\blockquote Agree..the 2015 open bike will be Scotts not quite works machine with extra fuel and soft tyres. The main problem with this years production bike was its lack of speed..Look how bad Bradl and Bautista have been this season, are they slow or is a satellite Honda just average? Think Scott would go well on a Ducati his size could even be an advantage!
