MotoGP » Dall'Igna: New engine ‘first step’ for 2015 Ducati

For Rossi fans(acknowledged or not),Ducati always was/is/will be "rubbish" because it proved he can't make the difference as Stoner did. Can't forget Preziosi's words at GP09 launch(first carbon semi-monocoque)"If we are making the same choices as japanese we are losers"History proved him right, copying japanese bikes with half of resources made them losers. But i belive the road they are taking is a good one, might win races again not championships.Same fans will say they've been helped forgetting others were helped too, only this time is transparent on paper by rule(respect for Dorna in doing that). Before i'll be labell a Rossi hater, one who has his cap(signed by him in 1997 when he wasn't idolatrized),can't be. Over.

MotoGP » Dall'Igna: New engine ‘first step’ for 2015 Ducati

cossiegaz:Stoner rode for race wins on a bike that wasn't capable of winning races, Melandri was sent to a psychiatrist and told to ride it properly because there was nothing wrong with the Ducati have finally accepted the bike is flawed
With 6 wins in title defense can't blame them pointing at Melandri misery.17 wins (Capirossi's Montegi'07 added) in 2 years with a bike "wasn't capable of winning",yeah...right... They already accepted bike is flawed with Rossi, pushed by desperate need to perform, please rider and sponsors.

MotoGP » Dovizioso: Marquez was much faster

May i remind Ducati run in 2013 with repainted GP12 since Gobmeier lacked ideeas and vision?Running year old project in this competitive sport is suicide. No wonder Dovizioso didn't scored a podium.Still he did more points than Rossi in his first year(2011).Anyway,in the end is a non sense comparison since they didn't run the same bike at same time.

MotoGP » Dall'Igna: New engine ‘first step’ for 2015 Ducati

TrueFan: A shorter engine should help. There is a critical measurement between the front axle and the center of the crankshaft. Ducati's is noticably longer than Honda or Yamaha, and conventional wisdom suggests that it is an issue. It is unlikely to be that simple, but it could well be a significant piece of the puzzle.
It is that simple,on paper at least.Every book on motorcycle engineering gives this solution.

MotoGP » Dall'Igna: New engine ‘first step’ for 2015 Ducati

Matt2:
justCTM: Finally they figured out,is the engine.
It is going to be interesting. They pretty much tried to change everything with Rossi exept the engine. Ducati is definetly faster than it was before Rossi era (count out Stoner), but the other teams have made atleast as big step forward.
They change the engine with Rossi when perimeter frame was introduced, can't mount a self bearing engine inside perimeter without new casting, new brackets. However it was more an adaptation than new project hence the bigger size from self bearing time when frame wasn't needed.
