Villeneuve and Franchitti are 2 good drivers who couldn't do nascar - she isn't even good. Looks like contracts are being discussed and she is raising her asking price. Just wish she would keep her clothes on and concentrate on winning more races.

Andrewm - just trying to make a point that not everyone that came from across the pond didn't make an impact. Also Zanardi spent time in lotus F1 before he went to CART in 1996. Nothing wrong with egos in F1 - Nigel Mansell ego is bigger than most. At least story isn't about Marco Andretti - he isn't a patch on his grandpa !

I think you will find that Montoya did make an impact in F1 - he won a number of races.

Agree with Don - I thought the strategy for the IRL was a north American series with a race in Japan to keep Honda happy. Yet here they go again flying cars around the world to venues with potentialy small crowds. I can smell the burning $$$$$$'s

Compared with the IRL how many oval rounds were there in the CCWS when Bourdais ran in them? Have no doubt Bourdais has oval experience but so does Wilson and he struggles. To win the IRL championship you need to beat the allrounders like Helio, Dario and Dixon. happy to be proved wrong PS Would love to see Montoya in the IRL

He may not have anything to prove anymore - but he's not old and needs to pay the mortgage. Other than running sportscars in Europe or the US what else can he do other than head for the IRL? Only concern would be his lack of oval experience - which like with Wilson may put him at a disadvantage. Once he gets F1 out of his system - I think he may end up in the IRL next year in say the Andretti Green team.

How much does Piquet bring in terms of funding which keeps him in a drive ? These small teams get significant funding from these drivers and presumably they got zippo from Sebas hence why he is toast. I dont want to see mediocre pay-drivers preventing cream from rising to top - but these are also a fact of life like business of hiring and firing drivers.
