So they want to get rid of the wing and replace it with a spoiler at all tracks, and in the process making the cars much more difficult to drive.

Whilst i commend that at most tracks, these PRACTICE sessions alone have shown that to be misguided. Seems like a really good idea to remove all their downforce when the practices have been marred by wreck after wreck after wreck. The final 50 laps on Sunday will be a wreckfest, i guarantee. But then that makes good publicity for NASCAR apparently, so they wont care!
