Delighted that Tony won, but what a dire points system !

How can a driver who has won half of the chase races - 5 out of 10 - finish level with a driver (Carl Edwards) who did not win a single chase race ? - something dreadfully wrong there.

The best driver won - to come back from 40th and to win was amazing.

I think you're missing the point. How can a guy who's been on average better than everyone else ALL season long not win the championship?

As much as I like Tony, he benefited from the dire points system, Carl once again lost out as he did in 2008...

It's amazing how the introduction of the chase was brought in response to Kenseth's one-win-championship in 2003. That nearly repeated this year...

Get rid of the chase, so NASCAR can return to being somewhat of a sport again, and not a show.

Congrates to Tony - he won more races than Carl. Deserved champion

But I have to ask how to do go from the back of a 40 ultra competitive grid to winning the race? Carl was up front leading all race until the last 50 laps??? it make a mockery of the series, you don't see other drivers riders going from the back of the grid to winning in an ultra competitive field in any other competitive motor racing series.

Hmm,Good question,How do you go from 40th to 1st,with a damaged car !

Few things - although 43 cars qualify for a Nascar race, approx 10 are 'start and park' operations, add to that Stewart was getting better fuel mileage - that was the big gamble at the end of the race resulting in one less stop then Edwards, a yellow for a rain shower towards the end also helped the fuel gamble (oh and the guy making that call was told he was fired earlier in the month but stayed on to the season end). Tony was able to pass with ease - 80+ passes before the half way mark !

Tony obviously had his car well hooked up - but how where the others soooo bad ?!
