How many races has Montoya won since going Nascar? Piquet is there for a year or so and is fighting for the championship and winning races. If you like him or hate him the kid has talent lost the GP2 title to Lewis and would had won the title had he not abandon many races due to mechanical problem. In F1 he was 3 tenths of a second slower than Alonso as a rookie and Briatori himself confirmed Piquet had an inferior package all weekends. I would love to see him racing in F1 again for a top team surely he would prove what he's real made of.

@ Lee.
It is clear that you like the boy. But sorry, Nelsinho's NASCAR carrer has not been outstanding whatsoever. He is starting his fourth season now, and this was only his first win. A win that cannot be labeled as important as Montoya's two wins in Sprint Cup and one in Nationawide series., because the K&N East series is something like Nascar's fourth division, behind Sprint Cup, Nationwide series and CampingWorld truck series.

Kid's got talent, will not deny that. But his F1 days are all over now. Perhaps it will take him a couple of seasons racing go 'round tin-cars in the US to realize that he must forget his passion for racing, and find new goals in his life. Too bad he is not going somewhere. What a waste of talent.

If he wanted to come back in F1 he should have done what Grosjean did that is go back to GP2 and win the title there in addition to winning other series then maybe...

Yeah, and I guess they think Dario Franchitti is Italian too.

I could understand if they thought he was Isreali after reading that he was born in Nazareth, but not sure how being born in Nazareth, Pennsylvania makes him Italian. The same way I guess there were so many Irish living in the US on St Patricks day, probably more so that has ever lived in Ireland.

Well FMB you live and learn. Just looked up about Mario and he wasn't born in Nazareth, but was born in Italy as it was then, Croatia now.

He became an American citizen in 1964, 3 years before he won the Daytona 500, so Crash is still wrong, but perhaps not so far wrong as we thought!

OZFan, this season will be his full second season in NASCAR. So really is his first win in his first year. Camping World Truck Series is very competitive, usally compite driver from the other series. Montoya was a F1 superstar when he moved to NASCAR, so he believed he deserves to go straight to Sprint Cup. Piquet Jr is following the same pattern that all the rookie NASCAR drivers do: start compiting in the Truck Series. So he is very respected for "do the right things". And by the way Kimi Raikkonen had a real horrible experience in NASCAR last year. For European people F1 is everything, the is no other car competition in the world. But in USA they do not care about F1 and the best drivers in america are compiting in NASCAR.
