How bad are the finances of Lotus?

Boullier has been prattling on all year saying the team is secure and there's no issues and now they can't sign the driver unless they can sell of a chunk of the team.

You can see this in a different angle.
Maybe KR outdrived RG only because of a better team support.

Edit : In your logic that the team now run for RG.
But like the team has no interest to do that for the constructor champ (Lotus refused to make a teamorder when RG was passed after pace car exit) it's not the case.
You can only argue about the new tires but in this case, RG supporters can do the same about the previous tyres spec.
But in F1 they have all the same tyres. Drivers have to deal with it.

Total was there before Romain anyway, cause their connection with Renault. That said I'm sure the presence of Total on board doesn't hurt Grosjean as they probably like to see a Frenchman in one of the seats.
