Does the car currently used in the NASCAR Sprint Cup need to be replaced?

Time to change NASCRA9!!!!
What about adopting scaled down DTM rules and cars to keep costs down?
Delete the carburators: live axles: 4 speed transmissions, etc, etc ...
Oh ... and what about road tracks?
Limit the number of cars to say, 30 per race... the rest would have to pre-qualify... that would make the series more competitive and less of a circus (40+ cars going on circles on a half mile track).
Pre-qualifying would also extend the racing and track time which would be a benefit for the spectators.
