Before everyone jumps on the ''let''s have a go at Montoya'' bandwagon, don''t forget this guy won the F3000 Championship, the Champ Car Championship, Indy 500, Daytona 24 Hours twice, 7 Grand Prix and took numerous Pole Positions. He has also won in NASCAR in both categories. Plus in F1, he ran rings round Schumacher when his car allowed him to. Finally, he has always been hard but fair with his many overtaking moves. He is his own man but those types are no longer required in F1. So good luck in NASCAR Juan. If you''re happy there then so am I.

he just scraped winning the f3000 championship (if memory serves me correct heidfeld was punted off the track) and the champ car championship he tried to throw it away and won it on a tie-breaker (if you want to see how he choked just look up houston '99 race and how he crashed out of it).

he won 7 gp's but should have won far more - he was at 2 teams designed to win, and especially in mclaren's case he should have done far more than 3 wins in 1 1/2 years there - having said that nascar's probably what suits his style the best - always struck me as the nascar type, similar to tony stewart

Juan has always been his own man, and always very entertaining to watch. I think he really enjoys not being around the snobs in F1.

I'd rather see him in an IndyCar, but he seems to be enjoying himself NASCAR.

Question is however, how long will Ganassi accept the less than stunning results he's getting. I know NASCAR is more about the publicity than about the racing and Montoya has a strong history with the team getting them their first big wins but still, Ganassi is a fickle man and he has got rid of drivers before from one moment to the other.
If Montoya can't increase his pace and or those rednecks on track with him won't stop hitting him, I see him in IRL rather sooner than later. Would be great to see him back in F1, especially with Ferrari, which is the highest a driver can achieve IMO, but apparently he's even more done with it than I thought.

its a shame his career drifted off course. he was a great racer and better overtaker than any of todays crop. tho sadly clumsy at times and let his heart rule his head after falling out with williams. should of stayed with frank.

Offers with whom ?

If it was for Bourdais' ride - you can see why he turned it down.

Would like to see him in the IRL - but there really aren't the drives available nowadays unless you are female or can pay for your ride !! :-o

Just watch 'uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sZQZ6MjtGPQ' for one of the best finishes of a race ever. Montoya and Michael Andretti battling for the win. I remember watching it at the time. Still enjoy watching it today. This is how F1 cars should be racing.

(Also this clip proves that Ben Edwards should be the new F1 commentator on the BBC, vastly underrated)

Honestly I see JPM ditching Ganassi, not vice versa. Montoya is awsome in a stock car but in F1 terms, if Hendrick is Ferarri than CGR is Force India.
