Updated information from AJ Allmendinger's business manager says that the NASCAR Sprint Cup driver tested just over the allowed limit for a 'stimulant.'

Actually NASCAR's policy is pretty enlightened: if someone has a substance abuse problem (and I'm not saying AJ does!) then you can't just set an arbitrary date or say "when you can clear a drugs test"." There has to be a proper treatment plan specific to the person concerned (no doubt including a timetable of retests) as e.g. addiction to serious drugs will take longer to address than others. What NASCAR says is that each person must successfully complete their program, then they can come back.

It seems Mayfield refused to admit any problem, refused to agree any program, sued NASCAR instead - *that's* why he's still suspended.
