The Richard Petty Motorsports contingent of Kasey Kahne, AJ Allmendinger, Elliott Sadler and Reed Sorenson will now all
start from the rear of the field in Sunday's Aarons' 499.
Kahne and Allmendinger blew engines in Friday's Cup practice, and had already been relegated as day two dawned, but Sadler and Sorenson then changed engines after practice as a precautionary measure and received similar sanction.
Moving to the back will have a negligible effect on the Petty Dodges, however, given that Kahne in 35th position was the top qualifier of the four. David Stremme blew his engine Saturday on his second qualifying lap and, after changing the power plant, will start his #12 Penske Dodge in the rear with the Petty cars.
