Boris Said, the ninth-place qualifier for Sunday's race, had an off-road adventure during Saturday's first practice session.
Said buried his #08 Ford in the gravel trap near turn six, but after his team cleaned out the gravel and changed the air cleaner, the car was none the worse for wear.
"The car's fine," Said insisted at the Nationwide Series drivers meeting between the two Cup practice sessions. "It's just dirty. I just drove it in a little too deep."
Said's Ford seemed fine in the subsequent final Cup practice, in which the road-course specialist posted the fifth-fastest time.
