Kahne saves the day

For Kasey Kahne, Sunday's race brought a satisfactory end to a difficult day.

Kahne started at the rear of the field because of an engine change during Friday's practice, and though he spent most of the afternoon trying to crack the top 20, the driver of the #9 Dodge rolled home eleventh as others ran out of fuel in front of him.

“It was a great finish, considering where we ran all day,” said Kahne, who held on to the eighth position in the Cup standings, “We got the best finish that we could. The pit crew did a great job. Considering that we started 43rd, we had a lot of cars to pass on a very slick racetrack, and we were able to pass a lot of cars.

“[Crew chief] Kenny [Francis] did a great job on top of the box, making adjustments to try to get our Dodge to handle better. We'll take the points and be happy to head to Bristol next weekend.”
