Richard Petty Motorsports hits AJ Allmendinger with a fine following his arrest for drink driving
Richard Petty Motorsports has hit driver AJ Allmendinger with a $10,000 fine following his arrest on a drink driving charge.
Allmendinger was stopped by Mooresville police in the early hours of Thursday morning and registered a blood alcohol content of 0.08, the minimum required for a DWI arrest in North Carolina.
NASCAR placed the driver of the #44 Dodge on probation until December 31 for actions detrimental to Stock Car racing with his team now also taking action.
RPM has also placed the former open-wheel racer on probation, although on this occasion through to the end of the 2010 season, while also hitting him with a financial penalty.
The $10,000 fine will be donated to charity.
