For the fourth successive season, Jimmie Johnson is able to celebrate victory in the NASCAR Sprint Cup after wrapping up another title at Homestead Miami Speedway.
The Hendrick driver took fifth in the season finale – a 24th top ten finish in 36 races this season – to wrap up the title as he ended the season 141 points clear of team-mate Mark Martin. Jeff Gordon capped a fine season for Hendrick by securing third in the standings, 38 points further back.
Kurt Busch was 'best of the rest' in fourth place while victory for Denny Hamlin in the season finale enabled him to climb to fifth in the standings with Tony Stewart rounding out the top six.
Outside the Chase, Kyle Busch was the highest placed driver in 13th after maintaining his position ahead of Matt Kenseth.
