It all went wrong for Martin Truex Jr. at Richmond in September, when his team (Michael Waltrip Racing) allegedly tried to manipulate the race in order to get Truex into the Chase. When their efforts were uncovered it was the blameless Truex who got punished, booted out of the Chase and also losing his main sponsor which meant that he had to look elsewhere for a 2014 race seat (he'll be in the #78 Furniture Row Racing car.) It's a shame, because 15 top tens, an average finish of 15.1 and a road race win at Sonoma had otherwise been a very upbeat year for the 33-year-old from New Jersey.
Is tenth about right for Truex? You can share your opinions simply by clicking on 'Post your comments'. And don't forget to check back tomorrow to see who has been ranked in ninth place!
