Season summary:

Kasey Kahne has settled in very nicely at Hendrick Motorsports in his sophomore season there, continually running near the front in individual races and never far from the top of the championship table - until a bit of an unfortunate slump in the final run of ten Chase races left him an unrepresentative 12th in the final standings. Two wins (at Bristol and Pocono) and an average finish of 16.2 was a solid overall performance, but he still needs that final step-up to put him ahead of team mates Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon - let alone put him in touch with six-time champ Jimmie Johnson.
