Season summary:

Kevin Harvick seemed to have torpedoed his 2013 season before it even started, after signing a deal that will take him to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014. Current team boss Richard Childress is not known for taking defections lightly, and things looked about to explode when Harvick ranted about Childress' "spoilt" grandsons Austin and Ty Dillon taking over at the team. But somehow they kept it together sufficiently to see Harvick finish out his time at the team with a strong third place in the standings, after amassing four wins and an impressive average finish of 11.2 for the year.
