Season summary:

You certainly didn't underestimate what Kurt Busch achieved this year at Furniture Row Racing: he took a team that finished 2012 in 24th place and made them a Chase contender, the first time that a single car team has ever made the play-offs in the format's history. He managed that through strong consistent results (16 top tens, an average finish of 14.7) and a pole for the team at Darlington. A visit to victory lane was just too much to ask for, although he did come ever-so-close on two occasions in Richmond and Kansas. He's thoroughly earned his return to the big leagues with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014.
