Despite plenty of recent speculation over the future of his team, Robert Yates will once again field a two-car Nextel Cup Series outfit in 2007 according to a report on NASCAR's official website.
Yates' eponymous team has endured a tough two seasons with 2006 being one of the least successful in its entire history. With Elliott Sadler and Dale Jarrett both departing along with Jarrett's sponsor UPS, the future looked bleak for the double title winning #88 team although news on
www.nascar.com has confirmed that both the #38 and #88 teams will return in 2007.
Although no sponsor or driver was mentioned for the #88 it now seems certain that the inexperienced David Gilliland will have a full-time teammate next year as the team looks to rebuild its fortunes.
