Denny Hamlin completed a Saturday sweep at the Dover International Speedway as he set fastest time in Saturday's Happy Hour practice session in his #11 Joe Gibbs Racing Chevrolet.
In four official times sessions this weekend Hamlin has now finished no lower than third in any of them and further backed up his claim for victory in Sunday's Dodge Dealers 400 with a best time of 23.946secs before he and the other 42 starters put their cars away for the night.
No other driver was able to break the 24-second barrier in the third and final practice period of the weekend leaving third place starter Hamlin as the driver everybody knows they must beat on Sunday.
Roush-Fenway Racing teammates Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards were second and third fastest respectively with polesitter Jimmie Johnson fourth, New Hampshire winner Clint Bowyer fifth and Jeff Gordon completing an all 'Chase' top six.
Of the six other championship contenders Martin Truex Jr was next up with ninth fastest time followed by Kevin Harvick in 13th, Kurt Busch in 14th, Kyle Busch in 16th and Jeff Burton in 20th. Bringing up the rear of the title hopefuls in 24th place was Tony Stewart.
