Dover race winner Carl Edwards has been hit with the loss of 25 points after his #99 Ford was found to contravene NASCAR regulations after the second race of the 2007 Chase for the Championship.
The penalty drops Edwards from third to sixth in the standings, and also resulted in a $25,000 fine for crew chief Bob Osborne and a similar points penalty for car owner Roush Fenway Racing. Osborne has also been placed on probation until the end of the calendar year.
