Samsung Mobile 500 - Race result

10 April 2011

Matt Kenseth finally found himself back in winning ways after a two year absence from Victory Lane with a dominant win in the Texas night race that saw him lead for 169 of the 334 laps despite fuel issues at one point.

The driver who appeared to be his biggest threat in the final stages, Tony Stewart, actually ran out of fuel on the last lap and fell from third to 12th place in the space of that one last revolution, leaving second to Clint Bowyer and third to Carl Edwards, who had been suffering from a case of food poisoning.

The biggest wreck of the night at Texas Motor Speedway occurred on lap 214 when light contact between Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick caught up Regan Smith and Mark Martin in a crunching pile-up. Truex, Smith and Martin all went to the garage with heavy damage, while Harvick followed up consecutive race wins with a disappointing 20th place at Texas after going two laps down.
