Truck - Kansas - Race results

Clint Bowyer dominated the 400th Truck Series race, leading for almost three quarters of the entire race to come in 1.695s ahead of Johnny Sauter to earn his third Truck series win.
Sprint Cup regular Clint Bowyer won his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series of the season on Saturday evening with a dominant performance at the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway, which saw him lead for 124 of the 167 laps.

However, he did need one major lucky break during the race, when a caution for debris on lap 98 came when Bowyer was coming up on the very edge of his fuel window having already been out for 48 laps since his last pit stop.

Bowyer also benefited when another yellow followed soon after when Shane Sieg hit the wall in turn 2 on lap 109. That allowed Bowyer to pit again for a top-up that saw him through the remaining race distance; although he had dropped to 11th place he was able to work his way up again through the remaining laps and led for the final 46, finally winning by 1.695s over Johnny Sauter.

It's Bowyer's third Truck Series career win in 11 starts, making him the fifth different series winner of 2011 in eight rounds. Bowyer hopes it stands him in good stead for the Sprint Cup race in which he will start from 27th.

"I want to win a Cup race here bad," said Bowyer. "This place means a lot to me. I watched this place being built. I dreamed of being able to race here in anything, and to be able to roll into victory lane ... is pretty cool."
