NASCAR » Cup - Pocono - Race results

Brad Keselowski completed a fairy-tale comeback from his mid-week testing accident to take victory in the rain-hit Good Sam RV Insurance 500 Cup race at Pocono Raceway.
Brad Keselowski topped a wild week that saw him crash at high speed in testing on Wednesday, get airlifted to hospital for treatment, look uncertain to even be behind the wheel for this weekend's Good Sam RV Insurance 500 Cup race at Pocono Raceway, and then to emerge against all the odds as the race winner.

Keselowski - who was racing with a diagnosed avulsion fracture in his left ankle from the test crash - battled through the pain and the fatigue as the race wore on, interrupted by 1h40m red flag for rain. Staying out on old tyres at the final pit stop enabled him to claim a narrow win over Kyle Busch.

He was rewarded with his third Cup victory in 74 starts, and crucially his second win in 2011 which means that provided he finished in the top 20, he will almost certainly get into the Chase - and the Pocono victory boosts him up into 18th.
