Cup - Bristol - Qualifying times

Ryan Newman managed to thwart Carl Edwards' Friday dominance at Bristol Motor Speedway, claiming pole position for Saturday night's Cup race by a slender 0.018s.
Carl Edwards topped both Friday afternoon practice sessions at Bristol Motor Speedway, but he was unable to make it a clean sweep in his qualifying run after Ryan Newman claimed his 48th pole position in 356 starts.

Edwards will start alongside Newman on the front row of Saturday's Irwin Tools Night Race after recording a time just a thousandth of a second clear of Matt Kenseth in third place.
