Cup - New Hampshire - Qualifying times

Ryan Newman took pole position for the Sylvania 300 Cup race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, after a rain-interrupted Friday afternoon qualifying session.
Light rain and drizzle caused a suspension of the qualifying session with just five cars remaining to go out on track, and for a while it was touch and go as to whether the session would restart or whether all the times would be discarded and the grid order set by the earlier practice times.

Either way, the outcome ended up the same as far as the front row was concerned - with Ryan Newman taking pole 0.050s ahead of Kasey Kahne on the 1.058-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Only half of the Chase contenders made it into the top ten. Those falling outside were Dale Earnhardt Jr. (12th), Brad Keselowski (16th), Tony Stewart (20th), Carl Edwards (23rd), Matt Kenseth (27th) and Denny Hamlin (28th).

The race is scheduled to start at 2pm local time (7pm BST) on Sunday.
