Cup - Daytona - Saturday practice

David Gilliland and Trevor Bayne drafted to the top of the timesheets in the final one-hour practice before Sunday afternoon's Daytona 500.
The final hour of Cup practice available to teams at Daytona International Speedway before Sunday afternoon's running of the Daytona 500 was a quiet affair with no major incidents.

David Gilliland topped the time sheets with a lap of 44.969s (200.138 mph), just 0.002s ahead of Trevor Bayne who was deployed as his drafting partner for the occasion. Next fastest in the session was Ricky Stenhouse Jr., 0.275s back.

Of the 43-car field, 36 cars took the opportunity for one last bit of track time, but reigning Cup champion Tony Stewart opted to stay in the garage.
