Reigning Nationwide Series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. topped the times after Thursday's sole practice session ahead of Friday's night's O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. put himself at the top of the timesheets following the first Nationwide Series practice session at the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway, ahead of Friday night's floodlit O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 race.

Stenhouse's time of 30.065s (179.611mph) was 0.110s faster than current championship points leader Elliott Sadler. Cup regulars Paul Menard, Kasey Kahne and Joey Logano took the next three positions ahead of series rookie Austin Dillon who finished just ahead of Denny Hamlin and Sam Hornish Jr. Danica Patrick was 11th fastes and just under three tenths slower than Stenhouse's benchmark, while Kurt Busch was 13th fastest and Dale Earnhardt Jr. back in 18th.

A second practice session will be held on Friday morning at 11am ET with qualifying later in the afternoon, three hours ahead of the actual race itself.
