Nationwide - Richmond - Race results

Kurt Busch won the Friday night Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway, ahead of Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick.
Kurt Busch won the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 Nationwide Series race on the three-quarter mile Richmond International Raceway tri-oval track under the floodlights on Friday night, managing to hold off Denny Hamlin in the final run for the chequered flag.

It's Busch's fourth victory in 15 Nationwide races, and the first series victory for Kyle Busch Motorsports, the team owned and operated by Kurt's younger brother Kyle with whom he also shares the seat of the #54 this season.

Earlier on Friday, Harvick had claimed his 24th Nationwide pole in 280 series starts with a lap of 21.665s (124.625 mph), his second pole in 22 races at RIR. His pole time was just 0.003s ahead of Hamlin, and only 0.069 ahead of Austin Dillon who was the highest placed series rookie on the grid starting in third alongside current champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
