Nationwide: Iowa - Race results

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. dominated the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway on Sunday afternoon, winning the race after leading 209 of the 250 laps.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. claimed his fifth NASCAR Nationwide Series race win in 83 starts at Iowa Speedway - and three of those five races have come at the same 0.875-mile track. It's also the reigning Nationwide champion's third win of 2012.

He was in utterly dominating form all night, ultimately leading 209 of the 250 laps of the race. That's more laps than he's ever led in a Nationwide race before - the previous high being 189 at last year's race at Lucas Oil Raceway - and equals the record for most laps led at Iowa set by Kyle Busch.

He won by over a second from Elliott Sadler, which extends Stenhouse's points lead in the championship over Sadler to 28pts.

Qualifying was held on Saturday, and saw Sadler take pole position with a lap of 23.523s (133.911mph), his 13th pole in 174 NASCAR Nationwide Series races and his second in 2012. His pole time was 0.109s ahead of Sam Hornish Jr. who lined up alongside him on the front row, with reigning series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on the second row alongside Michael McDowell. With 43 qualifiers, all cars made the grid.

The cars of Kurt Busch (#54), Mike Bliss (#44) and Joe Nemechek (#87) were all sent to the rear of the field for the start following post-qualifying driver changes, all three drivers having been at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday to run in the Sprint All-Star/Showdown races.
