Cup: Pocono - Qualifying times

Joey Logano will start Sunday's Pocono 400 Sprint Cup race from pole position after his lap of 50.112s (179.598mph) convincingly saw off the challenge of Carl Edwards in second.
Joe Gibbs Racing's Joey Logano claimed pole position at Pocono for the Pocono 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday afternoon, his fourth pole in 125 series starts.

His time of 50.112s (179.598mph) was a new lap record for the unique triangular oval circuit, following its repaving which eliminated many of the bumps of the old track and made for a much smoother and faster ride for all the drivers. Logano had previously also topped the second practice session of the weekend.

Carl Edwards was in second place, 0.205s off Logano's time, while Paul Menard and Kyle Busch will form the second row of the grid.

With 44 cars taking part in qualifying, David Stremme was the unlucky man out and failed to make the 43-car based on qualifying speed.
